BEAUTIFUL BORDEAUX
Well here I go again on my rant about how beautiful another European city is, but seriously it is. Every place I go to just seems to get better and better. Bordeaux is NO exception. My thoughts on Bordeaux before getting here were that it was going to be small, not exciting and pretty boring, man was I surprised!!! The drive into Bordeaux would have to be the most beautiful drive into any city so far. The river on one side and the old town on the other, such a contrast. Im still sick but I cant wait get out there and explore. I drop my stuff in my room and take off camera in hand. 1st impressions did not disappoint, every corner you turned there was another photo opportunity. I spent about 4 hours just walking and walking, it was beautiful. I spent alot of time walking along the boardwalk looking back into the old town. This place is just magical. Where im staying is really close to the Old Town so really easy to come and go. Also loving the single room I have, dont have to worry about my coughing during the night. I had a snooze on my bed for a couple of hours before heading out again to see how Bordeaux looked in the dark. It was even prettier. Had a pretty lazy morning again, got up round 12 so didnt head out til around 1ish. I went and took my computer with me to the boardwalk to catch up on all my homework. What more beautiful spot to do this than here. It was pretty hard tho cause it is so hot here, where I was sitting was like a sauna, I had to move. I sat on the steps where there is this cool water feature and watched kids play in it for about an hour, every time I got too hot it was my turn to get up and have a play to. I am so loving Bordeaux. Spent about another 5-6 hours just wondering the streets, looking and everything. This is one place I could definitely move to, its beautiful, the people are so friendly, the men a drop dead gorgeous and so easy to talk to, the lifestyle looks so awesome, at night everyone seems to head down to the boardwalk and picnic, skate, rollerblade, bike or just walk up n down. Hmmmmm one day I could see me coming back here for an extended stay but not just yet, my babies are still way to young and 18 weeks away from them is way to long to do again. Im glad my impression of Bordeaux was nothing like what I have actually experienced. Very pleasantly surprised. Now off to Tours for 2 more days of RnR.
