MY GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE
So excited about what was in front of me. Can't believe that I'm about to see the Grand Canyon and to go in a Helicopter to see it to. One very lucky kiwichick right here. It was an early start but it didn't bother me, I couldn't wait for it to start. The bus picked me up at 7.15 out the front of the hotel and we then picked up the rest of the crew that were doing the tour that day. The drive to the Grand Canyon Ranch was a funny one, Paul our driver was hilarious. He made the drive go really quick. We got to the Ranch and checked in. Had a look around then went and had a real cowboy lunch consisting of ribs, beans, bread, corn and a cowboy beer. Yummo. After lunch we went on our Horse ride to go see the Bison, my horse was pretty cool, he was so tall though, freaked me out a bit. We didn't get a chance to see any bison up close but it was still a really cool ride, the cowboys loved my new cowboy boots to :) These boots were definitely coming in handy and impressing more people than I had imagined lol. Now it was time for the helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon, I was the lucky one and actually got to sit in the front with they pilot, It was awesome being up the front. It felt like I was the one flying the Helicopter. Went took off and flew for about 6 minutes before actually entering the Canyon, when we entered the canyon and the ground under you disappeared so did my stomach. It was a horrible feeling and I didn't think it was going to end. We went a way down into the canyon and then flew around inside it up n down both sides, it was fantastic. An experience that Im not going to forget in a hurry. The scenery there was something that I have never ever seen before and not likely to ever see again unless I do the Canyon again. It definitely is a very unique landscape. The Joshua Trees were amazing and to know that some of these were over 9000 years old and that they only grow upto 1 inch every year is amazing. That 1 inch is spread out over every branch so in actual fact this tree only grows about 1.6mm every year. The Helicopter ride went for about 30 minutes and i would be lying if I said that I wasn't disappointed that it was over. Coming into land was pretty awesome to though. When I got off you couldn't wipe the smile off my face. We got back to Vegas after 6, I got back after visiting Freemont Street and seeing the lazer light roof and a band plus the lead singer from Poison, pretty pissed I didn't realise who he was until it was to late, he was watching the band next to me and was that close he was actually touching my arm at one stage. Man for an old man with extremely long hair and lots of makeup he deffs is bloody good looking. Got back and then had to get ready for my night out on the town with Guy. Went to a couple of clubs in vegas and had an awesome time, the clubs are nothing like I have been to before. Definitely is the land of the beautiful. I was having the best time people watching. I only stayed for a few hours as I was exhausted after my big day plus I had Madonna the next day after another long day of visiting the Casinos but this time visiting the inside. I walked in the door and crashed about 3.30am. My 2nd day in Vegas was definitely a very memorable one. Really loving it and also regretting that I only have 3 nights here, There is way too much to see and do and 3 days is no way near long enough to do even half of it. Anyway tomorrow night is Madonna, something I am really super uber excited to see to.
